Classic
Questions:
Why 12.5 oz.? The old ones were 12 3/4 to 13oz.
The new way of specifying the mass of the Classic
weight does not include the mounting kit, which varies with
each installation. On average, the installation kit more than
makes up for the slightly lighter weight specification.
Why pick the Classic tm over the Pounders tm?
If you want a throttle lock but vibration is not a concern, this
is our lighter size. If you want conservative styling, this
design calls less attention to itself than the Pounders tm.
Some people enjoy the ability to hold their hands a little further
out on the bar ends, for leverage (though we strongly recommend
against putting more than your little finger over onto the weight,
as some fitments are not stout enough to be a good handhold in an
emergency). When we recommend it, it is because that's all the mass
you need to get the job done.
How much do the bar ends add to the width of the bike?
As you can see in the tech drawing, the Classic tm weights and
throttle locks are 1.999" long. With straight bars like drag
bars or MX bars, this means a nearly 4" increase in width.
However, the more the bar ends are angled toward the rider, the
less the width goes up. For instance, a 30 degree pullback on
the grips will grow just less than 3.5" in total width with the
addition of weights or a throttle lock.
